What to write about
Three things are always worth an email, and all three genuinely improve the site.
- A figure you think is wrong. This is the most useful message we receive. Include the page address and, if you have it, the source document and the passage that contradicts us. Corrections are handled under the process set out on the editorial policy page.
- A source we have missed. If a state regulator publishes a per-insurer premium comparison we are not carrying, or has released a newer edition than the one we show, tell us and link it. Several of the jurisdictions currently held out would ship the moment a working route to their document exists.
- A permission request. If you want to reuse a table, a chart or a figure beyond what the terms of use already allow, ask. We answer these, and the answer is usually yes with attribution.
What we cannot do
We cannot advise on your policy, your quote or your claim, and we will not try. This site publishes figures insurers filed with regulators for hypothetical drivers the regulators invented. Those figures say nothing about any individual, and nobody here can see your circumstances, your record or your renewal.
For anything about your own cover, the people who can help are your insurer, your state insurance department, or a licensed adviser in your state. A department also handles complaints about an insurer, which is something we have no standing in at all.
We also do not accept advertising enquiries, guest posts, sponsored placements, link requests or paid inclusion of any kind, and messages about them are not answered.
How quickly we reply
This is a small operation, so plain expectations are better than a promise nobody can keep. A message reporting a wrong figure is looked at within a few working days, and if it is right the fix ships with the next build rather than waiting for a cycle.
General questions and permission requests are answered when we get to them, usually within a fortnight. Inventum is based in Australia, so a reply may arrive at an hour that looks odd from a US time zone.
